Oil on Canvas”Beware of the Snake” is a part of  a series where I first started exploring the connection between mind, body, spirit and Earth. After and during exploring the diptych of the connectedness of the world with a more thought out controlled type of painting, I began automatic painting to relieve frustration. Also known as surrealist automatism, I allowed my unconscious mind to paint without consciously thinking about what I was painting. After I was done automatic painting, I later went back in and rendered the painting. With the automatic paintings, I started uncovering messages that held meaning to me either immediately or months later. With “Beware of the Snake,” it can be displayed in different orientations.
